Meet the Maxims

Maxims.org (formerly MAXimprint) exists to capture, convey, and cause. Our 3-pronged philosophy for clear content comes from Habakkuk 2:2.

1. Write the vision.
2. Make it plain on tablets.
3. So he may run who reads it.

Essentially, our mission is to 1. CAPTURE the vision in your heart, 2. CONVEY it clearly on every device, and 3. CAUSE your target audience to catch it and run with it!

Maxims.org is the "dynamic duo" of the husband and wife team: Jonathan and Melissa Maxim. We met for the first time beside an InterVarsity Welcome Table at Art School in 1993 and started serving together on campus in 1994. Four years later, we were married in Pennsylvania on the 4th of July, and we have five "Maxims"—one girl and four boys (ages 14 to 24).

Jon has been a Website, Partnership & Church Consultant since Y2K. During the last two decades, Jon has built over 70 websites and written over 40 blog posts. He holds two degrees, an Associate of Applied Science in Art & Design from Rochester Institute of Technology (1995) and a Bachelor of Science in Bible & General Ministry from Lancaster Bible College (1999).

Before moving with his family to the Corning, New York area in 2004 to help start a church, he worked as a Graphic Designer for DavCo Advertising and a Multimedia Designer for Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster County. During that season, he served as an ALPHA Group Leader and a Print + Website Designer for his church. After relocating to NY, he helped several churches as a Webmaster, Media Designer, Resource Table Team Leader, Wordless Book Evangelist, Children's Ministry Team Leader, and Sunday School Teacher. Most recently, Jon has been blessed to care for Emmanuel Community Church as a Community Group Leader, Communion Team Leader, Deacon Board Member, and SEO Consultant.

Since living in the Twin Tiers Region of NY and PA, Jon has had the opportunity to work for two companies listed in Inc. Magazine as America's Fastest-Growing Privately-Owned Companies, serving as a Curriculum Publisher for Kingdom Inc. and a Project Coordinator for Monk Development (creators of Ekklesia 360 and Sermon Cloud). After working for Monk, Jon served as a Partnership Director, SEO Coach, Content Creator, and Ministry Advisor for Church Plant Media for over a decade. During that season, he helped countless local churches and national gospel-centered ministries like The Gospel Coalition (TGC), 1517 (Christ Hold Fast), Converge, and The American Association of Lutheran Churches. His most significant project for TGC was to rebrand, rewrite, rebuild, and relaunch 25 websites (within only a few days) for TGC Regional Chapters across the USA and Canada.

One of the most noteworthy seasons during that decade was from 2014–2015, when Jon served Tullian Tchividjian (grandson of the late Evangelist Billy Graham) and Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church as the Editorial Director & Webmaster for LIBERATEconnecting God's inexhaustible grace to an exhausted world, through daily blog content and resources that declared over and over again that Jesus lived, died, and rose again to "set the captives free" (Luke 4:18).

After LIBERATE's untimely end, Jon has helped build many other websites, including Pirate Christian Media (for the Rev. Captain Chris Rosebrough), Creationist Cartoonist Dan Lietha and 1517 Podcasters Daniel Emery Price and Erick Sorenson. Jon also served several ministries within the Anglican Communion, including Paramount Church for Dr. John Fonville, Always Forward for The Rev. Canon Dr. Dan Alger, and Next Generation Leadership Initiative (all ministries of the Anglican Church in North America), and the Center for Reformation Anglicanism.

From 2016–2022, Jon managed the websites and email marketing for Copper Moon Coffee, Manatee Coffee, and Hardcore Coffee. He built and maintained their sites using Squarespace and Shopify and their emails with Mailchimp and Klaviyo. Jon also cultivated partnerships for their Reach for the Moon philanthropic ventures with Astronaut Scholarship Foundation and Make-A-Wish. And he coordinated giving over 110,000 cups of coffee to educators, healthcare workers, firefighters, and police officers via We Give A Cup.

Melissa loves people! Growing up as a PK (Pastor's Kid), she has been involved in church ministry since birth. Her passion is to share the one-way love of Jesus with everyone. In 1996, Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Rochester Institute of Technology and then served as an Administrative Assistant at Open Door Mission in inner-city Rochester. Ever since she has served in that same capacity for several organizations.
